BIOGRAPHY

Most recently awarded first prize at the Highway 61 Folks Festival for his song "Life's Too Short," Jake Donze is enjoying his localized success in Minnesota and around the Midwest. His music can be heard on various radio stations, including Minnesota Public Radio (89.3, The Current), around Rochester (106.9, KROC and 96.9, KWWK) and on various Internet radio stations. In 1997, Donze was the first-ever solo-act to win the Madison, Wisconsin, Battle of the Bands.

Jake has released three albums thus far:
- Minnesota Boy (2001)
- 8 1/2 Avenue (1998)
- the light in van hise (1996)
A fourth album is due out soon.

Donze graduated in 1997 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in both English and acting. By day, he teaches high school English.
